CIRCLE HOOKS - TARGET SPECIES
As Circle Hooks are so new to the market and a lot of enquiries have been raised about their sizes and what fish, we have set out some of our preferences in the hope that they will be able to help you in deciding which circles hooks are the best for your kind of shark angling (and some other species). These are our suggestions and should not be taken as the gospel on species and circle hooks. All the hooks shown on this page are Mustad 39906BL.

Because
these hooks are very species size dependant, the hook size becomes critical
to the size of fish being anticipated. The critical factor is the width of the
side of the fishes mouth, when compared to the gape of the hook. Missed fish
can often be attributed to the hooking process, 'tightening up' rather than
striking. Though some times it is due to the size of the hook gape, being too
small, at these times either switch to a larger hook, of just open the hook
gap slightly with a pair of pliers.
